Lucerne - model city on the natural space?
"Landscape and urban space are moving ever closer together in the Lucerne region. Be it through infrastructure buildings, industrial sites, housing developments or new quarters - the natural spaces touch the city. Can these two elements interact and generate specific urban spaces? Can the edge of the city be implemented on the natural space? Does this model offer potential for densification in Switzerland?"
For his animata.ch project, Giulio Bettini (penzisbettini.ch) commissioned me to do a photographic exploration on this topic. The search for formal aesthetic moments in the architectural photographic sense opened my eyes and showed me with what different qualities these situations were and are interpreted by architects. The images thus tell the most diverse stories, some sad, some ironic, some illuminating and motivating.
