A tree is a tree is a tree

Even if Gertrude Stein described the characterization of a person in her poem "Sacret Emily" from 1922, which is modified here, she accepted the interpretation that something is indispensable for what it is. But appearances are deceptive. Sometimes our primary perception of a situation is untrustworthy and it turns out to be different from what we assumed when we first looked at it.

In the series of images "human traces?" the viewer recognizes situations that show natural conditions, intervened and changed by human beings, evolving a new structure. Or also moments that have grown through nature and developed the shape seen untouched. The human trace is integrated into the natural ensemble and the natural change in shape opposes naturally grown structures.

The viewer embarks on a journey through nature and is allowed to engage in a game of thought that is based on perception and questions their own interpretations.
