Sankt Gallen (Switzerland)

"Place for transit, production, shopping or living: Sankt Gallen East has many souls, depending on the user. The once separate villages of St. Fiden, Heiligkreuz and Krontal have grown closer and closer, the borders have been blurred. The newly formed urban area does not yet have a name and the enumeration of its villages is no longer sufficient to define the current situation. Is there a new city identity here, or is one in the making?"

It was a difficult search for identity that Giulio Bettini entrusted me with and with a single walk this task could not be accomplished either. It is questionable whether this is even possible as an architectural photographer. However, with the photographs I created, I was able to provide the basis for an exciting discussion on this topic. They show my encounters with architectural situations, which, through their heterogeneity, enumerate the constantly changing principles of urban planning almost like a textbook. They show the search for a constantly changing definition of unity.
